To this media after the opening of the MXGP Samota Sumbawa which was officially opened by the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia Zainuddin Amali. The Sumbawa Regent hopes that the large number of visitors to Sumbawa can have a positive impact on MSMEs and development in Sumbawa Regency.

“Alhamdulillah, we are witnessing the very lively opening of the MXGP Samota Sumbawa, this is a party for the people of Sumbawa. They are very enthusiastic about welcoming the riders by taking to the streets to watch and greeting the riders,” he explained.

“Similarly, our MSMEs at the Rocket Motor Circuit location have started selling, there are more than 460 MSMEs selling and also those outside the arena. We have deployed officers to organize and secure it,” he said.

The MXGP opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports Zainuddin Amali, the Governor of NTB Dr Zulkieflimansyah SE, MSc, along with Mrs. Hj dr. Niken Saparini Widyawati. Regent of Sumbawa, Deputy General Chairperson of PSSI Director of FIM, CEO of Infront Motor Racing, Deputy Chief of Police of NTB, Chairman of Sumbawa Regency DPRD Abdul Rafiq, Communication Forum for Regional Leaders of NTB Province and Sumbawa Regency, Head of OPD of NTB Province and Sumbawa Regency, Racers andCru MXGP Samota Sumbawa.

It is known that this year Samota Sumbawa will become one of the venues for the international cross motorcycle racing – MXGP 2022 after the previous year similar activities were also held in different places in Indonesia. In 2017 the MXGP was successfully implemented in Bangka Belitung, continued in 2018 in the city of Semarang and lastly in 2019 it was held in two locations, Semarang and Palembang.

And after 2 years of not being implemented due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the MXGP can be held again in 2020 in Samota Sumbawa.

The MXGP of Indonesia 2022 event is the 12th series this year, the activities themselves will be carried out from 24 to 26 June 2022 at the Sumbawa Samota motor rocket circuit.

The name Samota itself is an abbreviation of 3 names of tourism destination areas on the island of Sumbawa, namely SA, the name of Saleh Bay. Mo comes from the island of Moyo and comes from the name of the largest volcanic mountain, Tambora.

The race in the 12th series will be participated by a number of drivers from 20 countries consisting of 21 MXGP drivers and 14 MX2 drivers. [Ruf]
